The State Coordination of Civil Protection (CEPC) inaugurated in the College of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State (Cecyte), the Civil Protection Week that aims to promote a culture of self-protection among students, teachers and administrative personnel of this subsystem.
At campus 07 in Ahuashuatepec, municipality of Tzompantepec, José Antonio Ramírez Hernández, head of the CEPC, stressed that the goal is to train more than 600 students and teachers from the 32 schools of Cecyte and the 25 Higher Secondary Education Centers to Distance (Emsad).
Ramírez Hernández explained that during this week, specialized personnel will disseminate the formation of brigades – evacuation, search and rescue, first aid, prevention and fire fighting – within the campuses, in order to strengthen the response capacity of the community educational in a risk situation.
In addition, the importance of creating and strengthening internal Civil Protection plans and programs will be announced, which contribute to reducing risks in the midst of a natural or man-made disaster.
During the event, the State Coordinator of Civil Protection emphasized the importance of each government agency or educational institution having its own program on the matter, in order to safeguard the physical integrity of workers and people who attend public offices.
On the occasion, Teodardo Muñoz Torres, General Director of Cecyte, endorsed the subsystem’s commitment to reinforce actions in matters of Civil Protection for the benefit of the student community.
